First card: Customer.
It says, "Serving customers is the sole reason Huawei exists."
At Huawei, the person closest to the customer has the loudest voice. We say: "Let those who hear the gunfire call for fire support." It means the front line tells the back office what to do—not the other way around.
Second card: Striver.
We don't just say "employee." We say "striver." A striver is someone who takes on more, who gets things done.
We have a rule: "Never let the Lei Fengs suffer." Lei Feng was a person who helped others without asking for return. At Huawei, if you work hard and give a lot, the company makes sure you are rewarded. You won't be forgotten.
Third card: Perseverance.
This one says, "Be prepared to sit on that cold bench for a decade."
Some projects take ten years, twenty years. No one claps. No one notices. But you keep sitting there. You keep working. Because shortcuts don't last. We believe in "Focus as one, profit as one." Everyone pushes in the same direction.
Fourth card: Self-Criticism.
This one is special. We put "self-criticism" as a core value. Our founder once said a tough sentence: "If you are not afraid to lose face, you can improve."
When something goes wrong, we first ask: "What did I do wrong?" The person who can see their own mistakes clearly—that person grows the fastest.
So, four cards. Four words: Customer, Striver, Perseverance, Self-Criticism.
This wall is not decoration. Every day it asks every Huawei person four questions:
Did you stay close to the customer today?
Did you create real value?
Can you keep going when it's hard?
Do you dare to face your own problems?
That's the story of this wall. Any questions, feel free to ask.
